ADVANCED COXSWAIN TRAINING (ACT) PROGRAM- LIFEBOAT

The Advanced Coxswain Training program (ACT) is part of an overall competence assurance program for lifeboat coxswains, and supplements mandatory training, familiarization training and weekly abandon unit drills. The program meets the requirements of MSC.1/Circ.1486 and enables coxswains to practice launching, operating and recovering lifeboats under realistic emergency conditions. ACT “Lifeboat” has been optimized to use.

Prerequisites: Completion of basic lifeboat training
Duration: Self Paced 5 hours

Guardian E-NavigaTION

This interactive course is tailored to the needs of first responders who need to develop and improve their high-speed navigation skills. This course uses flash tutorials and exercises to cover the set-up and use of RADAR, GPS, Chartplotter, Depth Sounder and the Compass. The Guardian eNavigation course allows the learner to develop the ability to keep the vessel in clear water and avoid collisions using Virtual Marine’s NetSim.

E NAV FAMILIARIZATION TRAINING

This interactive course is part of an overall competence assurance program for deck officers. The intention of eNav familiarization training is to enable members of the bridge team to properly operate a Raytheon Anschütz Integrated Bridge System and its major components, namely ECDIS,RADAR/ARPA, INS and AIS. The program has been optimized to use a blend of e-learning and simulation and meets the recommended guidance published by IMO and the Nautical Institute.

Prerequisites: Completion of basic eNavigation training

YELLOW HAT FAMILIARIZATION PROGRAM

The Yellow Hat is part of an overall workplace familiarization program for personnel working in a maritime environment. The program enables personnel to become familiar with their workplace; practice implementing key safety procedures; as well as, perform simulated musters under realistic emergency conditions. The Yellow Hat program is customized for each worksite and has been optimized to use a blend of e-Learning and simulation.

The Advanced Coxswain Training program (ACT) is part of an overall competence assurance program for Fast Reponse Craft coxswains, and supplements mandatory training, familiarization training and bi-weekly drills. The program enables coxswains to practice launching, operating and recovering Fast Reponse Craft under realistic emergency conditions. ACT “FRC” has been optimized to use a blend of e-Learning and simulation.

Prerequisites: Completion of basic Fast Reponse Craft training
Duration: Self Paced 5 hours

Simulated e-Navigation (SEN-L)

Simulated e-Navigation (SEN-L)

This interactive course is tailored to the needs of small craft operators who need to develop and improve their navigation skills and to comply with Canadian regulatory requirements. This course uses flash tutorials and exercises to cover the set-up and use of RADAR, GPS, Chartplotter, Depth Sounder and the Compass. The SEN-L course allows the learner to develop the ability to keep the vessel in clear water and avoid collisions using Virtual Marine’s NetSim.

PRE-LAUNCH INSPECTION (PLI) PROGRAM

The Pre-launch Inspection program (PLI) is part of an overall competence assurance program for operators of ship launched boats. The program enables personnel to practice inspecting the boat and associated launching arrangements prior to operations. The PLI program has been optimized to use a blend of e-Learning and simulation.
